Hello …. I am working as a teller at a bank and I am planing on working as a real estate agent as well (I just passed my state exam!) but I do not want to ask my manager about it because they do not like employees having two jobs! ……. so I would like to know if it is not ilegal! o something like that! …..
thank you!

I’m pretty sure it’s not illegal, as they’re not within exactly the same industry so there will be limited conflict of interest, however it’s always advisable to tell an employee if you are working at another place of work, as if there is seen to be a conflict of interests, you could lose your job from it.
It’s probably not illegal, but there could be a conflict of interest, especially in the bank job.
Most real estate transactions involve lending, and banks lend money. So, even if you don’t use the fact that you work in a bank, there can be a perception that you use the bank as a way of making the sales. And, if the bank manager finds out, he’d be almost certain to end your position – not because you have a second job, but because of the potential conflict of interest.
I’m surprised though, that the real estate people didn’t ask about your connection to a bank, and not let you pass the the exam (regardless of how well you know the material).
Yes, it can be. You can not be involved, as a real estate agent, in anything your bank is involved in, so if they, or their subsidiaries, or their parent company is involved with either the buyers or the sellers in any way you are talking about a conflict of interest and risking legal charges being brought against both your bank and the broker stupid enough to hire you.
Since you are risking the banks license to do business I think you have to tell them about it.
